Lana Penley was a member of the women's basketball team at King College. While at King, she set single season records in many different categories. In the 1989-90 season, Penley recorded 119 free throws made at a 82.1 percentage. In 1990-91 she recorded a percentage of 82 from the free throw line. In 1988-89 Penley recorded 208 assists followed by 195 in 1989-90 and 202 in 1990-91. She is also in the record books for 74 steals in 1989-90 and 70 in 1990-91.
