The 2003 King College women’s volleyball team had a stellar year under Hall of Fame head coach Susie Toomey (HOF ’12), winning their seventh straight Appalachian Athletic Conference regular season and tournament titles. The Tornado posted an overall record of 32-8 while going 19-1 in AAC play and finished as the NAIA Region XII runner-up. Toomey was named the AAC Coach of the Year to lead the postseason accolades for the Tornado.

April Marrone Taylor (’04, HOF 14) was an honorable mention NAIA All-American as well as being named the AAC and Region Player of the Year. Joining her on the first team All-AAC team were Ryiah Cain and Lindsay Hooks while Cain was also named to the All-Region first team along with Marrone Taylor. Lauren Carrico earned All-AAC freshman team honors and Julie Bradbury led the NAIA in service aces per set. The trio of Jessica Stollings, Bradbury and Lawson all were AAC scholar athletes and Stollings was selected NAIA Academic All-American.
