Ballard Lee was just the second African-American basketball player in King history. According to former King teammate and longtime Tennessee High School basketball coach Dale Burns, Lee was an instant force in the old Volunteer State Athletic Conference from 1969-71. Lee, who played for coach Al Nida, earned a place in the King Athletics Hall of Fame for everything he did both on and off the court.
