Jeannine Ward Morris played for the Tornado women’s basketball team from 1985-89 under coach Al Nida who Morris is joined by in the King Athletics Hall of Fame. During her four year career, Morris led the Tornado in which could be the most impressive period of King women’s basketball posting an overall record of 82-26. This run also included two NCCAA national championships in 1988 and 1989.

Morris earned multiple spots in the record books during the 1988-89 season. Morris scored 624 points, averaged 21.5 points per game and sunk 251 field goals, which sits her atop the all-time individual season record books. In that same stellar season, Morris finished with 122 free throws made while attempting 180, which rank third and fourth respectively. Morris also sits at fifth in rebounds with 267 and field goal percentage with 61.7.

With a career that awarded her two national tournament most valuable player awards in 1988 and 1989, the two time All-American sits in the top five of many career statistical categories.  With 1,697 points scored, she sits at second in the rankings which is closely followed by two fourth place rankings in rebounds with 877 and field goals made with 581. Morris also sits at fifth in field goals attempted with 1092, field goal percentage with 53.2 and free throws made with 280.
