Rocket League highlights the Tornado esports week

BRISTOL, Tenn. – King University Esports continued competition this week throughout multiple leagues. FIFA, Madden and Rocket League B saw mixed results within the ECAC, but Valorant and Rocket League A have continued their undefeated runs moving to 4-0 and 5-0 apiece in the ECAC, NACE and NECC.

FIFA
  • King FIFA faced Lycoming College for week four in the ECAC where they were defeated in match one and match two for a 2-0 loss.
  • In week five King faced Stockton University and lost game one 7-1.
  • Some great adjustments in game two allowed the Tornado to break their losing streak by winning 3-2 and tying the series 1-1.
  • Unfortunately, in game three Lycoming would turn up the heat again to take the match 6-1.
  • Pantaleo moves to 3-2 in ECAC play.
MADDEN
  • Drayton Virgo met up with Muskingum University in week four of ECAC play.
  • A tough blitz in game one and a few costly fumbles resulted in a 21-3 loss in the first game, Virgo's first loss of the season.
  • In game two Virgo controlled the pace of the game well and the score was very close throughout both halves.
  • Muskingum was able to mount some strong defense through their consistent blitz and ultimately took game two by score 28-20.
  • Virgo drops the series 2-0 and moves to 3-1 in ECAC play.
ROCKET LEAGUE
  • Rocket League has been busy as usual with the NACE, ECAC and the CCA Open.
  • In ECAC play Rocket League A took wins over the University of Kentucky and Boise State to move to 5-0.
  • In NACE play they manage to knock off West Virginia Tech and Florida Southern College to improve to 5-0 here as well.
  • In the CCA Open King managed to post eighth and third place finishes in the first two tournaments with two remaining.
  • Rocket League B had a tough run in ECAC where they lost to Post University in an extremely tight 3-2 loss then subsequently lose to Nazareth College in another close 3-2 series. They move to 2-2 in ECAC play.
VALORANT
  • Valorant Scarlett team won another NECC match moving to 4-0 on the season.
  • On Bind they were on attack against Johnson and Wales University.
  • Scarlett took a commanding four round lead, but Johnson and Wales made a nice recovery to even the match score at 4-4.
  • King won the next four round to take an 8-4 lead at the split.
  • Johnson and Wales won a couple rounds on defense but King ultimately took the first match by score 13-6.
  • Top frag was Andrew Ondrak, the anchor of the team at 19/9/5.
  • The next map was Breeze and King was on attack.
  • Johnson and Wales won the first three rounds, but the Scarlett squad slowed their approach and won the next two rounds.
  • At the switch King was down 8-4, moving to defense.
  • On defense King went on an incredible run after moving into a 10-8 lead Jarrett Joles found himself in a 1v3 situation around the bomb site.
  • He quick scoped two immediately.
  • After the bomb was planted, he went for the final kill on a fast swing to hit another quick scope and get the bomb defuse.
  • King won the round win 13-9 and match by score 2-0.
  • Top frag was Jarret Joles at 26/17/4.
  • Valorant Scarlett moves to 4-0 in NECC league play with this win.
  • Valorant Navy faced University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire this week in NECC play.
  • The first round was on Split and King was on attack.
  • Navy found themselves down 10-2 at the split, moving onto defense.
  • They made a good run on defense tightening the score to 12-6 before giving the final round.
  • Top frag was Jarret Joles at 16/14/4.
  • The next map was Ascent and King was on defense.
  • Navy found themselves down again at the split, this time by score 9-3.
  • Moving onto attack King also struggled, winning two rounds on offense and losing the match 13-5.
  • Top frag was Austin Pantaleo at 13/12/9.
  • Valorant Navy moves to 1-3 in NECC league play.
UP NEXT
  • Saturday and Sunday Rocket League will compete in the CCA Series.
  • On Monday, Rocket League competes in NACE at 6:00 p.m., FIFA competes in the ECAC at 8:00 p.m. and both Valorant teams will compete in the NECC.
  • On Wednesday Rocket League will compete in the ECAC at 8:00 p.m.
  • Thursday Madden will compete in the ECAC at 8:00 p.m.
