King wins ECAC Rocket League

TROY, N.Y. – King University Rocket League traveled to Troy, NY where they won the 2025 ECAC LAN event and total prize of $3000. Sam Calini, Will Leenen and Andrew Wade made the championship day seeded sixth but managed their way to the finals where they defeated Rochester Institute of Technology. En route to this victory they defeated Stockton University, Keiser Sarasota and Wichita State, among others.

FINAL SCORE: King Rocket League - 1st out of 16
LOCATION: Priem Experimental and Performing Arts Center; Troy, Ny.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • King University began day one in arguably the most difficult pool assembled in the entire tournament composed of Stockton University and Keiser University Sarasota.
  • They managed to qualify for day two where they played Stockton University again, defeating them 4–0.
  • In the upper bracket semi-finals they defeated Wichita State University 4-1 before falling to Rochester Institute of Technology by a close 4–3 score.
  • After dropping to the lower bracket they faced Nichols College, winning by score 4–2 to advance to the Grand Finals where they would again face RIT.
  • In the Grand Finals King made all the correct adjustments, dropping only one game to win the ECAC LAN event and prize of $3000.
  • Andrew Wade was named MVP of the entire Rocket League event.

UP NEXT
  • King Rocket League is currently competing in the NECC National Tournament.
  • They will compete throughout the week with National Finals occurring over the weekend.
