Bristol, Tenn. – King University Esports teams both compete in the National Championship Semi-Finals for Call of Duty and Valorant. The Valorant team would fall to Rochester Community College 2-0. The Call of Duty team, however, was able to get the win in a sweep to send them to the National Championship next week as they took down Keiser University 3-0.

The King University team took on Keiser in their second meeting of the season. The first one saw King fall in a close 3-2 match. In the semi-finals, King had other plans, dominating this game, winning 3-0 in a clean sweep.

King won the first map, Hardpoint, in a close match, getting the win 250-202. With a total team K/D of 1.55 to secure the first map win.
Chase Proffitt led the team in the first map with a team-leading K/D of 2.48, with a total of 57 eliminations in the first game.
Kirk Rahill is right behind his teammate with a K/D ratio of 1.95 and boosted 37 eliminations while only fainting 19 times.

In the second map, Search and Destroy, the Tornado held on strong to get the win 6-5 and a team K/D of 1.41. Proffitt led the team again in both eliminations and K/D ratio, with a ratio of 2.43 and 17 eliminations. Rahill held on strong in the match, holding a 1.50 K/D to assist in earning the win.

The final map was on overload, where King was able to work as a team perfectly, having a 1.98 K/D average for the team. Proffitt led the way with his strongest game of the night with 2.71 K/D and a total of 38 eliminations.
Vetle Saether and Rahill both stepped up, having a K/D ratio of 2.06 and 2.07, respectively.

The King University Varlont team took on Rochester Community and Technical College and fell in a close 2-0 match. The first game King narrowly lost 13-9, and fell 13-4 in the second game.

In the first game, King and Rochester battled in a 13-9 final score. King had positives in the game with two players in the top four players in the lobby.
Matthew Montenegro-Strunk and
Cristobel Amiel led the way for King. Strunk had an average combat score of 322 and 26 eliminations, while Amiel had an average combat score of 210 and six assists.

In the second game, King worked to try to make a comeback but fell 13-4. The Tornado was led by Strunk with a 208 combat score and 12 eliminations. The team had no players with a K/D of higher than 1.00, causing them to fall short of moving on to the National Championship.
