King Track & Field delivered a statement performance at the 2026 Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships, stacking school records, podium finishes, and championship-level marks throughout an impressive weekend at JDL Fast Track.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — King Track & Field delivered a statement performance at the 2026 Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships, stacking school records, podium finishes, and championship-level marks throughout an impressive weekend at JDL Fast Track.

The Tornado showcased depth across sprints, mid-distance, relays, and field events, marking one of the strongest indoor championship meets in program history.

200 Meter Breakthrough

King opened the finals with a major highlight as Stevens surged to a third-place finish, clocking 21.53 in a highly competitive 200-meter field. His performance added valuable points and set the tone for the rest of the day.

4x400 Relay Record

The Tornado closed the meet with a statement, as the relay team of Braylon Hammond, Thomas Grant, Spencer Utsey, and Lynden Johnson shattered the school record in the 4x400. Their strong championship run capped off a weekend of momentum for the men's squad.

800 Meter Success

King's middle-distance group delivered in a big way:

  • Spencer Utsey set a new school record in the men's 800 meters, stopping the clock at 1:58.97.
  • Ermay Vazquez-Adame earned a second-place finish in the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:22.04, securing a podium spot and key team points.

Pole Vault Record

In the field events, Nate Rosson made history by breaking the school record in the pole vault, clearing 4.15m. His performance marked another milestone in a rapidly improving event group.

A Historic Weekend

With multiple school records, podium finishes, and championship-level marks, King Track & Field walked away from the 2026 Conference Carolinas Indoor Championships with one of the most successful meets in program history.
