BRISTOL, Tenn. – Conference Carolinas announced their acrobatics & tumbling all-conference honors on Friday and two King University student-athletes were honored.
Bridget Sweeney and
Madeline Robison both earned first team honors.
Sweeny earns first team honors for the second straight year after competing 10 heats for the Tornado. The sophomore from Royersford, Pa. helped King post two scores of 9.85 in the compulsory pyramid and back-to-back 9.90 scores in pyramid heats two and three. Sweeney was named Conference Carolinas Specialist of the Week on March 12. She also garnered honorable mention specialist of the week from the National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA).
Robison competed in 11 heats for the Tornado, helping King nearly set three school records. The junior from Loganville, Ga. helped King post two scores of 9.85 in the compulsory pyramid and back-to-back 9.90 scores in pyramid heats two and three. She also posted a season-best score of 9.450 in the 6-element tumbling pass. This marks the first time she has earned All-Conference Carolinas honors.
