BRISTOL, Va. – The King University men's swimming team defeated Converse University on Saturday afternoon 135-97.
Jean Ducastel set the school record in the 200 yard backstroke to lead the way for the Tornado.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ducastel won the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:51.57, breaking head coach Juan Somoza's previous record.
- The Tornado quartet of Ducastel, Taylor Apps, Jack McDaniel and Sam Osowiecki started with a winning 200 yard medley relay time of 1:40.75.
- King followed with a 1-2 finish in the 400 yard individual medley with Efe Ertuzun winning event in 4:14.70 and Apps taking second in 4:42.69.
- Osowiecki won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:49.67.
- In the 50 yard backstroke, Ducastel touched the wall first in 25.23 seconds.
- The winning continued for the Tornado in the 50 yard breaststroke as Carson Eliasen touched the wall first in 28.11 seconds and Apps finished third in 29.22 seconds.
- Jacob Sell won the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:01.65 while McDaniel took third in 2:19.60.
- In the 50 yard freestyle, Eliasen finished runner-up, touching the wall in 22.95 seconds.
- In the 100 yard freestyle, Osowiecki came in runner-up with a time of 49.49 seconds, while Sell came in fourth at 50.05 seconds.
- Ertuzun followed with a win with a 200 yard breaststroke time of 2:26.39 while Apps finished runner-up in 2:26.92.
- Sell then won the 50 yard butterfly with a time of 24.22 seconds with McDaniel taking fourth in 25.91 seconds.
- Osowiecki touched the wall in the 500 yard freestyle in 5:11.72 to finish runner-up.
- Ertuzun then won the 100 yard individual medley with a time of 54.26 seconds.
- The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Ducastel, Ertuzun, Eiasen and Sell capped the meet with a winning time of 1:30.70.
