Kingsport, Tenn. – The King University Swimming and Diving team returned to the pool for day two of the Conference Carolinas Championships, and the Tornado delivered another slate of standout performances. With multiple school records, a conference champion, and more podium finishes, King continued to build momentum heading into the weekend.
The evening session opened with several strong swims from the women. Katie Koenst highlighted the night by breaking the school record in the 200-yard Individual Medley, touching in 2:10.65 to add valuable points for the Tornado.
On the men's side, King continued to shine. Oliver Toledo earned another top finish for the Tornado, claiming runner-up honors in the 500-yard freestyle after a powerful closing stretch. The momentum carried into the 200-yard Individual Medley, where Carlos Arias surged to the front of the field and captured the Conference Championship, securing King's first gold medal of the meet.
The night concluded with another historic swim as Cristobal Amiel broke the school record in the 50-yard backstroke, stopping the clock at 23.65 to cap off a strong second day for the men's team.
King continues to stack impressive performances as the Championships move forward, keeping themselves firmly in the hunt for more podium finishes and a climb up the team standings.
