CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The King University women's cross country team finished 6th at the 2023 Conference Carolinas championships Saturday, with
Ermay Vazquez Adame leading the Tornado, finishing in 18th to earn all-conference honors for the first time in her career.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vazquez finished the course in 23:55.6, finishing 18th in her first career conference championship race.
- Mandy Lowery was 23rd, crossing the line in 24:13.4.
- Destiny Haller ran the course in 24:51.3, taking 29th while Lexie LaDuc was 34th, with a time of 25:12.3.
- Lauren Sedberry finished the course in 27:18.5, while Briana Wilson rounded out the Tornado with a time of 27:54.4.
FOR THE FOES
- Converse University won the team championship, with a total time of 22:50.
- Moureen Kimaiyo of UNC Pembroke was the individual champion, with a time of 22:07.1.
UP NEXT
- King will now turn their sights to the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional championships, which are scheduled for Nov. 4 at the North Georgia Cross Country Course in Oakwood, Ga.
