HUNTSVILLE, AL. – The King University women's cross country team competed in the UAH Chargers XC Invitational on Saturday, October 11th.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior, Ermay Vazquez-Adame, led the Tornado ladies with a time of 23:39, good for 97th place out of 250 runners.
- Senior, Emily Ward, was just 6 seconds off her all-time best at the 6k distance with a very strong finish and a time of 23:49, earning her 104th place.
- Junior, Lexie LaDuc was just 5 seconds behind Ward running an all-time best in the 6k with a time of 23:54, good for 111th place and being the first time she has cracked the 24 minute barrier.
- That trio came through the 5k points in 19:42, 19:50, and 19:55.
- Freshmen, Kailee-Ann Conner, ran 25:58 in her first 6k ever.
- The Tornado ladies top 5 average time was 25:02, which is a season best.
COACH BRUNECZ'S THOUGHTS
"With this being my third cross country season at King, I have never had 3 ladies dip under the 24 minute barrier in the 6k until today. Ermay, Emily, and Lexie ran amazing races and fed off of each other very well."
