BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University acrobatics & tumbling team opened the season in impressive fashion on Sunday afternoon as the 10th-ranked Tornado defeated ninth-ranked Alderson Broaddus University. King gain separation in the tumbling event as they went on to the 255.740-251.435 victory.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Tornado pulled away from the Battlers in the tumbling event, outscoring Alderson Broaddus 52.350-49.225.
- Berlin and Versluis set a program-high in the tumbling duo pass with a score of 9.150. That also marked the first time in program history the Tornado posted a score over 9.000.
- In the tumbling quad pass, King matched a program-high when White, Brown, Guittard and Lyons posted a score of 8.100.
- The win for King marks the first for the Tornado over Alderson Broaddus in school history.
UP NEXT
- King is in action again on February 22 when they travel to Belmont Abbey College for a tri-meet.
- The Tornado will face Belmont Abbey and East Texas Baptist University at 7:00 p.m.
