King earns first wins over Adrian, Concordia Wisconsin

ADRIAN, Mich. – The King University acrobatics and tumbling team earned their first wins of the year on Sunday and eclipsed their win total from last year. In a tri meet, King scored 250.660 points to top Adrian College and Concordia University Wisconsin who scored 229.670 and 228.120, respectively.

The Tornado (2-2) started the meet off on the right foot, scoring 35.40 points in the compulsories to build a lead as Adrian (1-3) scored 26.35 and Concordia Wisconsin (0-5) scored 28.80. King then set a pair of program bests in the next two events, acro and pyramid. King scored 9.70 in each of the first two acro heats and 9.55 in heat three for a total of 28.95 while Adrian scored 27.80 and the Falcons scored 24.85. In the pyramid event, the Tornado posted scores of 9.55 in heat one, 9.60 in heat two and 9.65 in heat three for a total of 28.80. The Bulldogs scored 27.45 and Concordia Wisconsin scored 27.75 in the pyramid event.

King extended their lead in the toss event by scoring 25.85 points to Adrian's 24.00 and Concordia Wisconsin's 22.85 point totals. In the tumbling event, King posted a total of 47.050 while Adrian scored 42.450 and Concordia Wisconsin posted a score of 42.250. The Tornado capped the win with a team routine score of 84.61 to finish with a total of 250.660. Adrian posted a team routing score of 81.62 to finish at 229.670 while Concordia Wisconsin scored 81.62 in the team routine to finish at 228.120.

King will be in action again on Tuesday night when they travel to take on Gannon University at 7:00 p.m.
