Tornado swims by Ferrum

ABINGDON, Va. – The King University men's swimming team traveled north to swim against Ferrum College at Emory and Henry University. Swimming fast was the theme of the day for the Tornado as they defeated Ferrum 118-63.

Everything began when the 200 meter medley relay team of Bryan Stroinski, Nicholas Piumelli, Justin Reeves, and Tyler Brewster came in first with a time of 2:01.08. Up next was Reynold Thibideau and Jacob Morales finishing one and two in the 50 freestyle with times of 27.74 and 28.32 respectively. Reeves continued first place finishes for King when he posted a 2:27.03 in the 200 meter IM, ten seconds faster than the second place finisher.

Tyler Brewster kept it going for the Tornado when he tallied a personal best 1:07.58 in the 100 meter butterfly. In the 400 meter freestyle, Reeves post a time of 4:36.81, winning another race. The winning was not done there for King as Piumelli recorded a 1:15.85 in the 100 breaststroke, shortly followed by Tyler McBee with a 1:23.56.

Austin Jameson and McBee finished one and two in the 800 meter freestyle with times of 10:28.52 and 10:31.34. Piumelli continued to win races, winning the 200 meter freestyle by posting a 2:13.70. Lucas dos Santos won the 100 meter freestyle with a time of 1:04.82. Finishing the day for the Tornado, the  team of dos Santos, Morales, Brewster and Thibideau swam a time of 1:50.93 in the 200 meter freestyle relay.

King will be in action next on Friday, November 21st when they travel down to Asheville, N.C. to swim against Warren Wilson College.
