Spartanburg, S.C. – King University women's golf began competition at the Conference Carolinas Championship on Sunday at Carolina Country Club, finishing day one in 12
th place with a team score of +72.
Leading the Tornado was
Kate Watanasiripong, who carded an opening-round 85 (+13). Watanasiripong delivered a steady performance across both nines, posting a 42 on the front and 43 on the back to set the pace for King.
Gloria Capo followed with an 87 (+15), highlighted by a strong 42 on the back nine to remain within reach heading into the second round.
Rounding out the Tornado lineup were
Carolina Calzada and
Joanna Stevens, who each recorded rounds of 94 (+22). Both golfers battled through a challenging course setup to contribute to the team score.
