Murfreesboro, N.C. The King University Softball team played a doubleheader on the road against Chowan, with two close games, winning the second one after a tough loss in the first. In the first game, Chowan won 3-2, and in the second game, King won the same way, 3-2.

Game One:

In the first game, Chowan was able to get a run across homeplate in the first inning to lead in the first 1-0. After King got the bats going in the second, the Tornado were able to get
Ella Richey across home to tie it up 1-1. Chowan was able to score in the fourth and the fifth unanswered putting the score 3-1 after five. King was able to get Richey crossed home again to finish the sixth inning with the final points of the game. King would fall to Chowan 3-2.

On the mound for King were
Kaylee Meeks through 6.0 innings and
Makayla Ramsey. Meeks was able to strike out two batters while only allowing three hits. Â

Batting:
Grace Shary had two hits.
Katie Ryan,
Alena Demakas, and Richey all had one hit, with them all being doubles. Demakas also had an RBI.

Game Two:

In the second game, King was able to hold strong through five innings, not letting Chowan score, while they were able to score three runs for King. Shary was able to score off a sacrifice fly out from
Savana Luper.
Yuleesa Kennedy had a big hit in the third inning after Shary scored for a solo homerun. Ryan would score in the fifth for the final point, King would score. Chowan battled through the fifth and sixth innings, scoring two runs, but King held them to just those two, which let the Tornado win 3-2.

The duo of Luper and
Riley Lamb threw four strikeouts and only five total hits. Luper would get the win and Lamb the save.

Batting:
Luper had two hits in two at-bats with one RBI and a double.
Ryan and Shary both had one hit and one run.
Kennedy with one hit, which was a homerun and two RBIs.
