King University Athletics mourns the loss of
Matilda Svensson, a beloved member of our women's golf team and a cherished member of the Tornado family. Matilda, a junior from Oxie, Sweden, passed away unexpectedly, leaving behind an enduring legacy of kindness, compassion, and spirited dedication to her teammates and friends.
Matilda joined King University as a standout golfer and quickly became known for more than just her athletic talents. Her teammates, coaches, and friends remember her warmth, positivity, and unwavering support for those around her. She embodied the very best of collegiate athletics — commitment, sportsmanship, and a deep sense of community.

Brian Kamm reflected on Matilda's impact, sharing, "Matilda was the kind of person whose presence made everything feel lighter. She had a beautiful, zestful laugh that could fill a room and bring comfort even on difficult days. She cared deeply about the people around her and never wanted to let anyone down, always trying her best to be there for others in whatever way she could. Helping people came so naturally to her — it wasn't something she thought about, it was simply who she was. Her kindness, her warmth, and the love she gave so freely are things that will stay in the hearts of everyone who knew her, forever."
Matilda's memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. We extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, teammates, and the entire King University community during this difficult time.
