King Wrestling Headed North to NWCA National Duals

Cedar Falls, Iowa– The King University Men's Wrestling team went to Iowa to compete in the NWCA National dual, first competing against Augustana (SD) and later tonight took on Ashland. Falling to both teams, 3 to 35 against Augustana and 16 to 26 against Ashland.
 
King vs Augustana:
King fell to a strong Ashland team 3 to 35, winning one bout at 133.
 
The Tornado won 133 in a decision victory by Alex Fernandez III, 5-3, over Braiden Kort. Having a takedown in the first period to start things off hot, Fernandez didn't score again until the third period, getting a reversal.
 
Nathan Coley had a close match at 285, losing by a decision of 7-8. He was up going into the third period 6-4, then lost the lead in the final period from a takedown by Max Balow.

King vs Ashland:
King fell to Ashland 16-26 in the first round of consolation matches. Having a rough start, losing both of the first two bouts at 125 and 133, King was able to come back at 141 and get an MD by Hendricks 13-5.
 
The momentum would then go back to Ashland as they would go on to win the next three bouts, all in major decisions. King would win 174 with a pin from Morrisette and two decision one at 184 from Luke Justice and 197 from David Bertrand.
