King Wrestling Falls to Lander 38 to 6 to Open 2026

The Tornado fell to the Bearcats 38 to 6 in a Conference Match to start 2026.

Greenwood, S.C.– The King University Men's Wrestling took on Lander University in a conference match-up, falling 38 to 6. The only two wins came at 149, Brennan Watkins, and 174, Clinton Morrisette.
 
Watkins earned the first victory of the night for King, winning by decision over Isham Peace 5-2.
 
Morrisette took the win over Sean Crews, winning by decision 4-2. Fighting hard through three periods to hold Crews off, Morrisette was able to get a much-needed win tonight for the Tornado.
 
David Bertrand lost in overtime to Marvelous Rutledge in a close bout at 197, losing 1-4-1.
 
 
The Tornado will be back at home on January 5th against Emory & Henry for a conference match.
