PETERSBURG, Va. – The King University Men's golf team wrapped up play at the Griffin Invitational, hosted by Saint Leo University at the Country Club of Petersburg on Tuesday afternoon.
TEAM RESULTS:
The Tornado posted a first-round score of +9 (297), their second round of the day was +10 (298), and their third round was +22 (310), for a combined +41 (946) on the par-72 layout. King finished in 13
th position out of a field of 14 competitive teams from the region.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:
- Carter Myers – 30th out of | R1: 71 (-1), R2: 78 (+6), R3: 74 (2+) | 223 (+7)
- Carles Calvo Molina – 30th out of | R1: 73 (+1), R2: 73 (+1), R3: 77 (+5) | 223 (+7)
- Garrett Wellman – 44th out of | R1: 78 (+6), R2: 72 (E), R3: 81 (+9) | 231 (+15)
- Nathan Hopley – 50th out of | R1: 75 (+3), R2: 75 (+3), R3: 78 (+6) | 228 (+12)
- Vetle Saether – 83rd out of | R1: 79 (+7), R2: 80 (+8), R3: 81 (+9) | 240 (+24)
FOR THE FOES:
- Catawba College was the team champion, finishing with an 856 (-8)
- Reggie Fear from Eckerd University was the individual medalist, carding 210 (-6) for three rounds
