DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The King University cheer team finished their 2024-25 competitive schedule with the NCA Collegiate National Championships held in Daytona Beach. The team had their highest finish ever as they finished in 5th place out of 11 teams in the field for the Division II Intermediate Small Co-ed category.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- King scored a 90.1944 on the first day of competition after a perfect hit routine placing them 3rd in the standings heading into the second day of competition.
- On day two, the Tornado scored 88.6574 to finish with 89.0417 and a fifth place overall finish.
- In a close and competitive division, the Tornado were just 0.9514 away from fourth place but competed with nine athletes in their first year and seven who had never competed before this year out of the 13 on the mat.
- This is King's highest placement ever at the event and the team improved their weekend score from 87.8495 last year to 89.0417 this year.
- Ema Moore stepped up as an alternate during the team's practice to learn the skills in the 20 minutes remaining of the team's practice time before going on the mat on Thursday to be a member of the team's first day performance.
