Bristol, Tenn. — King University Men's Wrestling has been ranked
No. 4 in the 2025–26 Conference Carolinas preseason poll, signaling high expectations for the Tornado as they prepare for another competitive season. With a strong core of returning talent, King is poised to make an impact in both conference and national competition.
Leading the Tornado this season are three standout wrestlers:
- Brennan Watkins (Senior, 149, Kingsport, Tenn.) — Watkins enters the season as a 2025 NCAA Division II All-American, finishing third at last year's NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championships. His proven ability to perform on the national stage makes him a key leader for King.
- Clint Morrisette (Senior, 174, Kingsport, Tenn.) — Morisette qualified for the 2025 NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championships after winning the NCAA Super Region II title. He also earned All-Conference Carolinas third team honors. His career includes a fifth-place regional finish in 2024 and a third-place finish in 2023, along with two national tournament appearances.
- David Bertrand (Senior, 197, Dunwoody, Ga.) — Bertrand qualified for the 2025 NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championships and placed third at the NCAA Super Region II Championships. His veteran presence and postseason experience provide depth and leadership in the upper weights.
With these leaders anchoring the lineup, King University looks to build on its strong tradition of wrestling excellence and contend for a top finish in
Conference Carolinas this season.
