BRISTOL, Tenn. – Five members of the King University swimming and diving teams have been named College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District.
Sam Osowiecki and
Carson Eliasen were chosen from the men's team, with
Abbie Erme,
Gwen Haag and
Fanny Legros representing the women;s program.
Osowiecki, a junior from Thomaston, Conn., was part of three relay teams that set school records at the Conference Carolinas championships, starting in the 800 yard freestyle, where the Tornado finished second, with a school record time of 6:46.50. He was also on the 400 yard medley relay team that finished in 3:23.35, as well as the 400 yard freestyle relay team that took fourth with a time of 3:05.92.
Eliasen, a senior from Gig Harbor, Wash., was also part of the 400 yard medley relay team that set a school record at the conference championships, while also being part of the 200 yard medley relay team that finished sixth with a finals time of 1:42.32. He also had a fifth-place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke, finishing in 57.60 seconds.
Erme, a senior from Boiling Springs, Pa., finished eighth at the conference championships in the 100 yard breaststroke, with a time of 1:08.04. She was also part of the 400 yard medley releay team that finished fourth, with a finals time of 4:02.83.
Haag, a senior from Katy, Texas, came within three seconds of breaking the school record in the 50-yard breaststroke in a dual against Lenoir-Rhyne, finishing third with a time of 35.40 seconds. She was also part of the 400 yard freestyle relay team that took second at the dual with a time of 3:59.06.
Legros, a junior from Belgium, won the 1650 yard freestyle at the TYR Bulldog Invitational, finishing with a time of 18:13.19. She also finished fourth at the meet in the 200 yard breaststroke. At the conference championships, she had a pair of top-five finishes, placing fifth in both the 1000 yard freestyle and the 1650 yard freestyle.
