BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team hit three home runs Tuesday as they swept Belmont Abbey College in a Conference Carolinas doubleheader.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
- Ryan's home run came in the third inning, a grand slam that broke the game wide open for the Tornado.
- Thompson had a solo home run to tie game two, with Dye hitting a two-run home run that would be the game-winning run for the Tornado.
- Nikole Counts and Savana Luper both picked up wins in the circle.
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- King struck early, as in the bottom of the first, Katie Ryan drew a leadoff walk, advancing to second on a wild pitch and third on a ground ball.
- She scored when Alyssa Suits singled up the middle. She came across a short time later when Thompson doubled to right center field, putting King in front 2-0.
- Belmont Abbey added an unearned run in the top of the second to pull to within 2-1.
- The Tornado struck for seven runs in the bottom of the third, with Million picking up a two-RBI double, as well as a single from Megan Dobrev and the grand slam from T. Ryan that broke open the game, 9-1.
- After the Crusaders left the bases loaded in the fourth, King added two more on a two-RBI double by Aviah Bunsic, taking a 11-1 lead.
- Belmont Abbey got a pair of baserunners in the fifth, but failed to score, ending the game 11-1.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- Belmont Abbey took a 1-0 lead on an RBI double in the third, with King escaping the inning on a ground ball double play.
- Thompson led off the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run, tying the game at one.
- King scored twice in the fifth, with K. Ryan leading off with a single before Dye hit her two-run home run to put the Tornado in front 3-1.
- The Tornado added six in the sixth, with K. Ryan picking up another RBI on a single, as well as a two-RBI double by Dye.
- After Alyssa Suits hit into a run producing fielder's choice and stole second, Thompson ended the game with a single up the middle, allowing Suits and Dye to score and winning the game 9-1.

FOR THE FOES
- Sidney Pon and Ivy Holley had the lone RBI on the day for Belmont Abbey.
