Warren Davis and
Kellan Kennedy of the King University men's volleyball team were honored on Thursday afternoon by being named All-Conference Carolinas. Davis was named second team all-conference, with Kennedy earning third team honors.
Davis, a senior from Mansfield, Texas, is making his second appearance on the all-conference team after being named first team last season. This year, Davis is leading the Tornado in kills per set (3.56), digs per set (1.65) and is one of two Tornado to have played in all 26 matches. Tuesday night in the Conference Carolinas Quarterfinal, he had a season-high 23 kills in a 3-1 upset win for the Tornado.
Kennedy, a senior from Clifton Park, N.Y., is also appearing on the all-conference teams for the second time in his career. This season, he is averaging 1.76 kills and 0.80 blocks per set. His 61 total blocks on the season leads the team, with a team-high 11 solo blocks.
The Tornado, fresh off a win over Erskine in the quarterfinals of the Conference Carolinas tournament, will face no. 2 North Greenville Friday night in a semifinal match. First serve from North Charleston, S.C. is set for 7:30 p.m.
