WINGATE, N.C. – The King University softball team dropped a pair of nonconference games at #12 Wingate University Sunday, falling 11-5 in game one before dropping a 9-1 game two.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- After Dye hit a one-out solo home run in the first, Million doubled to right-center field, setting up Thompson for a two-run home run, putting King in front 3-0.
- Wingate responded in the bottom of the second, scoring seven runs on four hits and three King errors, taking a 7-3 lead.
- Both teams scored a run in the third, with Ryan reaching base in the top of the inning on an error, eventually scoring on a wild pitch, though Wingate added a run in the bottom of the frame to keep an 8-4 lead.
- After King scored in the fifth on a Million RBI single, the Bulldogs scored three in the sixth, extending their lead to 11-5.
- Dye reached base in the seventh after being hit by a pitch, but a pair of popouts to shortstop ended the game.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- It took two batters for King to score, as Dye hit an RBI single to score Ryan, putting King in front 1-0.
- Wingate responded with seven runs in the bottom of the inning, taking a 7-1 lead.
- The Bulldogs extended their lead to 9-1 after a two-run second inning.
- King got baserunners in both the third and fourth innings, with Bradlie Warner hitting a single to start the third, before Helina Hahn drew a two-out walk in the fourth, but both would be left stranded.
- King went down in order in the fifth, with Wingate winning 9-1.

- Ragan Liles had the lone home run for Wingate, coming in the second game. She was 1-for-3 in game one.
- Raelynn Kramer was 1-for-2 in game two, but picked up three RBI.
UP NEXT
- It will be a quick turnaround for King, who will return to Conference Carolinas play Monday at the University of Mount Olive, with game one set for a 2 p.m. first pitch.
- Wingate will play a SAC doubleheader Friday at Carson-Newman.
