AJ Drooker and
Warren Davis both recorded double-digit kills Saturday afternoon as the King University men's volleyball team swept Emmanuel University, 3-0 in a Conference Carolinas match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- Emmanuel took an early 4-1 lead.
- King started to rally back, scoring three straight to tie the score at six.
- The Lions continued to hold the lead until King tied things at 12-12, taking a 13-12 lead on a Kellan Kennedy kill.
- After King made it to set point, leading 24-21 the Lions scored a point before Davis picked up a kill to end the set, with King winning 25-22.
Second Set
- The Tornado never trailed in the set, taking an early 7-3 lead after scoring three straight points.
- King's lead eventually reached 18-13 after three consecutive points.
- A kill by Alex Barkley and a block by Drooker and Kennedy put King in front 21-16, though Emmanuel pulled back to within 22-19.
- After King took a 24-20 lead, the Lions scored three straight, but King held on for the set win, as Sean Haberthy came up with the set-ending kill.
Third Set
- The Lions scored the first four points, en route to a 6-3 lead.
- After Emmanuel pulled in front 14-10, King scored four of the next five points, including a pair of kills by Drooker to pull to within 15-14.
- The Tornado eventually tied the set at 20-20, before taking a 21-20 lead on a Davis kill.
- Emmanuel had set point at 24-23, but the Tornado rallied with three straight Davis kills, pulling out a 26-24 set win, and taking the match 3-0.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Tornado finished with 12.5 blocks on the match, their best blocking performance of the season. Kennedy had a season-high 10 blocks, with Drooker adding four.
- Davis led the Tornado attack with 14 kills, with Drooker adding 13 along with a pair of service aces.
- Davis also led the Tornado in digs with seven, with Drooker and Haberthy both picking up five.
- King has now won 20 total matches against Emmanuel in the series history.
FOR THE FOES
- Eli Zdonek finished with 18 kills, also picking up the lone service ace of the match for the Lions.
- Abdallah Roshdy had 37 set assists, while Nicklas Eichenberger had 12 digs, along with four assists.

- King will host Lees-McRae College Wednesday night in their final regular season home match of the season.
- Emmanuel will host Belmont Abbey College Wednesday night.
