BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University softball team picked up a Conference Carolinas sweep Tuesday afternoon, beating Converse University 14-6 in game one before winning 7-3 in the second game.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- Converse got off to a hot start with three runs with two outs in the first inning. Two scored on a Madison Davis double before she scored on a Victoria Dichio double.
- King responded with two runs on a Suits two-out double in the bottom of the first inning.
- Relief pitcher Marleigh Duncan left runners on second and second in the second inning, but the Valkyries added two runs in the third inning.
- The Tornado evened the score at 5-5 in the bottom of the third on a Thompson single that scored Aviah Bunsic before Suits scored on a wild pitch.
- King broke the game open in the fourth as Dye laced a two-run home run to give King the lead.
- Suits later laced a three-run bomb before back-to-back doubles from Thompson and Tori Ryan added another run.
- Katie Ryan and Dye later drove in runs with singles before a Lilly Million triple gave King a 14-5 lead.
- Converse scored one in the fifth, but that was it as King took the contest 14-6.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- The Tornado got on the board in the second, as Megan Dobrev and Tori Ryan each picked up RBI singles, putting King in front 2-0.
- After Converse scored on an error in the fifth, Million led off the bottom with a double, with pinch runner Autumn Campbell advancing to third when Bunsic singled.
- The Valkyries then recorded a pair of strikeouts before Dobrev ripped a home run off the scoreboard in left center field, opening up a 5-1 Tornado lead.
- Converse scored twice in the top of the sixth, but in the bottom Katie Ryan led off with a single before Dye took the fifth pitch of her at bat and hit a home run to left field, making it a 7-3 lead.
- Savana Luper allowed a two-out single in the seventh, but got a game-ending lineout to first base.
