Victoria Baez-Dilone became the second King University women's wrestler to earn National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Wrestling of the Month honors, taking the recognition for the month of January.
Baez-Dilone Went a perfect 7-0 with five technical falls with wins over the top two ranked individuals at 130 pounds. She Defeated second-ranked Alexis Janiak of Aurora University 8-0 before topping top-ranked Cameron Guerin of McKendree University 2-2. Baez-Dilone also defeated 10th-ranked Emily Frost on a 10-0 technical fall. She was Tornado Open champion with 3-0 record, beating now eighth-ranked
Anna DiCugno on an 11-0 technical fall in the final. She also won a bronze medal in an international competition in France, going 4-1.
Claire DiCugno previously won the award for the month of November.
She is now eligible for the national wrestler of the month that will be announced on Thursday.
