BRISTOL, Tenn. –
Warren Davis of the King University men's volleyball team was chosen as the Conference Carolinas men's volleyball Player of the Week Monday after his performances in matches against the University of Mount Olive and Barton College.
Davis, a senior from Mansfield, Texas, averaged 5.29 kills and 2.00 digs per set for the Tornado. He had a season-high 19 kills, along with seven digs and two blocks in a four-set match against Mount Olive on Friday before recording 18 kills in a straight sets win over Barton on Saturday afternoon. He had a season-high seven digs in both matches.
On the season, Davis is among the NCAA Division I leaders in attacks per set (2nd, 8.65) and kills per set (25th, 3.42). He leads the Tornado in points per set (3.67), kills per set (3.42).
This is the fifth time in his career that Davis has earned a weekly honor from the conference office, and the first time this season.
The Tornado are back in action Wednesday when they travel to Harrogate, Tenn. for a nonconference match against Lincoln Memorial University, with first serve scheduled for 6 p.m.
