BRISTOL, Tenn. – Top-ranked
Chey Bowman of the King University women's wrestling team was named Conference Carolinas women's wrestler of the week Tuesday, her first conference weekly honor.
Bowman, a senior from La Habra, Calif., went 6-0 last week, winning the title at the highly competitive North Central Open. Prior to that, she won a 10-0 tech fall over Presbyteran's seventh-ranked May Cuyler in a dual meet. At the North Central Open, Bowman rolled through her competition, going 5-0, winning the title.
In the semifinals, she won 11-0 over no. 8 Tera Jimerson of North Central, her lone ranked win of the tournament. She had three wins that came via pin, including two that took under 90 seconds.
