Edu Elizaran Galan of the King University men's swim team was named the Conference Carolinas Men's Swimmer of the Week after his performance in his collegiate debut at the King Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Elizaran Galan, a freshman from Coroba, Spain, had the highest individual finish for the Tornado finishing second in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:55.18. He also finished fifth in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 52.77 seconds and eighth in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 21.98. The freshman was a member of three relay teams that finished third. The 200 yard freestyle finished in 1:25.51, the 400 yard freestyle finished in 3:11.01, and the 400 yard medley finished in 3:33.75. Elizaran Galan's efforts helped King take third in the eight-team King University Invitational.
The King University men's swim team will be back in the pool on Oct. 26 for a tri-meet as they host Emory & Henry and Lees-McRae. The meet will be hosted at Tennessee HS.
