BRISTOL, Tenn. –
Warren Davis of the King University men's volleyball team was named AVCA All-America Honorable Mention Monday afternoon, marking his first AVCA All-America honor of his career, and the third in program history.
Davis, a junior from Mansfield, Texas, established himself as a force to be reckoned with in Conference Carolinas this season. He averaged 3.78 kills per set, which was third-most in the conference, with an attack percentage of.277, ranking 12th in the conference. He finished the season having posted double-digit kills in 13 consecutive matches, including 13 kills against #9 Ohio State in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
He also set a program record this season, recording 425 kills, which is the most in a single season in program history, making him the first player in program history to eclipse the 400-kill mark.
While this is the first AVCA All-America honor of his career, Davis is no stranger to postseason awards. He was named to the All-Conference Carolinas first team earlier this year, and was also named Tournament MVP of the Conference Carolinas tournament, while also being selected to the all-tournament team.
