CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The King University softball team dropped a pair of nonconference contests at Lee University on Wednesday afternoon. The Flames held off a late rally to take game one 9-6 before pulling away late to take game two 9-1.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- Campbell started the game with a single and stole second before scoring on a Turner single.
- Lee grabbed a 2-1 lead with a two-out, two-run home run in the bottom of the inning.
- The Tornado deficit grew to 5-1 when Lee hit a three-run home run in the third inning, and the Flames took a 7-1 lead with two runs in the fifth inning.
- Turner got the offense going in the sixth with a leadoff home run.
- Maggie Deel singled to score Tinsley Thompson who was hit by a pitch earlier in the inning.
- Campbell drove in one with a bases loaded single as a Flame error allowed another to score.
- King cut the deficit to 7-6 on a Dye infield single.
- However, Lee got the final out to leave the bases loaded.
- Lee tacked on a pair in the bottom of the sixth and retired the Tornado in order in the seventh to take the contest 9-6.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- A walk and back-to-back singles gave Lee a 1-0 lead in the second inning.
- A bases loaded walk added another and the Flames took a 3-0 lead with an infield single.
- King then got a strikeout and groundout to end the inning and leave the bases loaded.
- Campbell started the third inning with a single and later scored on an error following a Turner single to get King on the board.
- Lee responded with a run on a single and double to regain at 4-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning.
- Back-to-back singles followed by an out and a sacrifice fly gave Lee a 5-1 lead in the fourth inning.
- The Flames then recorded consecutive bases loaded singles in the fifth inning, resulting in three runs.
- A two-out single up the middle plated another run and gave Lee the 9-1 victory.

- Ana Macha posted six hits on the day and scored five runs.
- Alexa Scalzo drove in five on the day, including a home run.
