FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The King University softball team came away with a Conference Carolinas split at Emmanuel College on Friday afternoon. The Tornado faced one of the top pitchers in the league in game one, falling 7-0 before bouncing back to take the nightcap 5-2.

KING HIGHLIGHTS
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- The Lions did all of their damage in the bottom of the first, scoring seven runs on six hits to take an early 7-0 lead.
- The frame was highlighted by a two-run single and two-run double.
- Bradlie Warner led off the third with a single, and advanced to second on a single from Campbell.
- Though a groundout and a pop out would end the inning with two on base.
- The Tornado put two runners on base in the sixth, as Dye hit a one-out bunt single before Turner singled. The inning would come to an end on a double play.
- Emmanuel would get runners to second and third in the bottom of the frame, but Madison Walter was able to induce a pair of groundouts to end the inning.
- In the seventh, the Tornado again got runners on base, this time at second and third before a groundout to first ended the game.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- Campbell and Turner singled in the top of the first before Lawson came up with a two-out infield single to score one before a Leonard single drove in another to give King a 2-0 lead.
- King manufactured a run in the third as a Turner sacrifice fly scored Campbell, stretching the King lead to 3-0.
- In the circle for the Tornado, Nikole Counts only allowed one base runner in the opening three innings.
- The Lions loaded the bases with three singles in the fourth, but Counts got out of the inning to keep King ahead 3-0.
- The score remained the same until Erin Foster ripped a leadoff, pinch-hit double in the seventh inning.
- She later scored on a Campbell home run, giving King a 5-0 lead.
- The Lions started the bottom of the seventh inning with three straight singles, resulting in one run before the first out of the inning.
- Two more singles plated another run before Marleigh Duncan entered in the circle for the Tornado. She induced a pair of popouts to give King the 5-2 win and earn her first save of the year.

- Alyssa Adams posted four hits and drove in two while Kyna Cheney drove in a pair on three hits.
- Adrianna Meeks drove in three on two hits, including a double.
