Tornado finish 6th at the Conference Carolinas Championships

KINGSPORT, Tenn. - The King University men's swimming team finished sixth at the Conference Carolinas championships, breaking multiple school records in the process.

HOW IT HAPPENED - SATURDAY

• Dale Bruce placed fourth in the 200 yard breaststroke, touching the wall in a school record time of 2:05.62.
• Carson Eliasen also swam in the event, placing seventh with a time of 2:09.39.
• The 400 yard freestyle relay team of Sam Osowiecki, Jan Kuljak, Gideon Bezuidenhout and Bruce finished third, with a school record time of 3:06.04.
• Caelan Sutton finished 10th in the 200 yard butterfly with a time of 2:04.72.
• In hte 100 yard freestyle, Kuljak came in 15th with a time of 47.92 seconds.

HOW IT HAPPENED - FRIDAY

• Bruce placed fourth in the 100 yard butterfly, with a time of 50.35 seconds
• Gideon Bezuidenhout in a tie for fourth-place, touching the wall in 1:41.59 in the 200 yard freestyle.
• Kessler Dayton took fifth in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 56.97 seconds.
• The 400 yard medley relay team consisting of Osowiecki, Dayton, Bruce and Kuljak took fourth, finishing in 3:25.85.

HOW IT HAPPENED - THURSDAY

• The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Luke Hunt, Dale Bruce, Jan Kuljak and Gideon Bezuidenhout finished with a school record time of 1:24.35 to finish fifth.
• Bruce finished fifth in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 1:53.12 while Bezuidenhout came in seventh with a time of 1:54.20.
• In the 50 yard freestyle, Kuljak finished 13th with a time of 21.56 seconds.

HOW IT HAPPENED - WEDNESDAY

• The relay team consisting of Jan Kuljak, Sam Osowiecki, Gideon Bezuidenhout and Dale Bruce set a school record in the 800 yard freestyle relay, finishing with a time of 6:49.03 to take first place. 
• Osowiecki also had a solid swim in the 1000 yard freestyle, placing third with a time of 9:56.45, the first time in his career that he has finished in the top-three at the conference championships.
• The 200 yard medley relay team consisting of Osowiecki, Kessler Dayton, Caelan Sutton and Luke Hunt placed sixth, with a time of 1:36.16.
