DiCugno named NWCA Region 2 Wrestler of the Month

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Claire DiCugno of the King University women's wrestling team has been selected as the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Region 2 Wrestler of the Month after going undefeated in November, winning a pair of titles.

DiCugno, a sophomore from Lake Tapps, Wash., opened the season with a title at the East Stroudsburg Open, going 3-0 at 136 pounds to win her first tournament as a Tornado. She also won the 136 pound championship at Eagle Madness, posting a pin and three tech falls en route to the title.

This is the second time that DiCugno has won NWCA Region Wrestler of the Month after earning the award in Dec. 2021 when she wrestled at Colorado Mesa University. Since the award was created in 2021, the Tornado have won every regional wrestler of the month award.
