BRISTOL, Tenn. – After breaking the school record in the 200 yard backstroke Saturday against Converse,
Jean Ducastel of the King University men's swimming team has been rewarded with being named Conference Carolinas men's swimmer of the week.
Ducastel, a freshman from Pont Remy, France, had two event wins Saturday to lead the Tornado to a win over Converse. He broke the school record in the 200 yard backstroke, touching the wall in 1:51.57 to win the event, breaking the record that was previously held by head coach Juan Somoza. He also had a win in the 50 yard backstroke, finishing in 25.23 seconds to win his second event of the day.
This is the first weekly honor of Ducastel's career, and the third time this season that the Tornado have earned this award.
The Tornado are back in the pool this weekend, competing at the annual Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Union (Ky.) University.
