BELMONT, N.C. – The King University men's soccer team dropped their road matchup Wednesday night, 2-0 at Belmont Abbey College.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Pedro Herrera took the first shot of the game in the ninth minute, but it missed right.
- Belmont Abbey scored their first in the 10th minute, taking an early 1-0 lead.
- After Anthony Bernardi made three saves in a 10 minute stretch, the Crusaders found a second goal in the 33rd minute to take a 2-0 lead.
- Weston Joyner had a pair of shots in the second half, but both were blocked by the Belmont Abbey defense, holding the Tornado off the board.
- Riley Moore took the first shot on goal of the night for the Tornado in the 87th minute, but it was saved, resulting in a Tornado corner kick.
- The ensuing corner kick resulted in a goal kick for Belmont Abbey, who held on for a 2-0 victory

- Herrera finished with two shots on the night, with Joyner and Moore each adding one.
- Bernardi finished with eight saves.
FOR THE FOES
- Walter Gomez and Felipe Baptista had the goals for the Crusaders, with Davis McBee adding the lone assist on the night.
