BANNER ELK, N.C. – The King University men's soccer team tried to come back from an 2-0 deficit early in the second half at Lees-McRae College on Tuesday night. Tornado cut their deficit in half in the 55th minute, but it wasn't enough as the Bobcats add two more goal, taking the contest 4-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The opening 45 minutes was played fairly even as Lees-McRae outshot the Tornado 7-4 as both team placed two shots on goal.
- The first scoring opportunity went to the Tornado as Weston Joyner laced a shot on target in the fourth minute.
- Patrick Poku followed with a shot 30 seconds later, but it was off target.
- Lees-McRae's first shot attempt came in the 21st minutes, but it missed the frame.
- However, the next attempt for the Bobcats broke through as Harrison Watts found Jesper Jonsson who place his shot into the lower right side of the goal, giving Lees-McRae the 1-0 lead.
- Gauthier Lumale responded with a save in the 25th minute to keep the Tornado within one.
- Joyner had another opportunity in the 34th minute on a free kick from 30 yards out, but it was turned away by the Bobcat goalkeeper.
- Lees-McRae took three shots in the final five minutes, but all were off target as the Bobcats took a 1-0 lead at the half.
- The Bobcats extended their lead to 2-0 with a goal off of a free kick in the 50th minute.
- Ricky Sexton cut the King deficit in half when he took a through ball from Chris Neal and got behind the defense before beating the goalkeeper to the left in the 55th minute.
- However, the Bobcats played a ball over the defense in the 59th minute that was tracked down by Ryan Aliam and slid past Lumale to extend the Lees-McRae lead to 3-1.
- The Bobcats add another on a free kick in the 82nd minute to take the contest 4-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- King placed five of their nine shots on goal and took one corner kick.
- The goal for Sexton is his second of the season.
- Neal registered his first career assist.
FOR THE FOES
- Lees-McRae took 11 shots, placing six on frame.
- The Bobcats also took six corner kicks.
- Sean Green made four saves.

- King returns home to face North Greenville University on Saturday as the Tornado will honor their seniors with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
