BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's volleyball team attempted to win their second straight match in as many nights on Friday when they hosted Limestone University. The Tornado fought back in the third set to extend the match and nearly came back again in the fourth set, but came up short as Limestone took the match 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- Warren Davis started a run with a kill before blocks from Aaron Milstead and Davis and AJ Drooker and Davis evened the score at 8-8.
- King later scored four straight points and six of seven points to take a 15-12 lead. Davis had a kill and ace to start the spur and Milstead ended the run with an ace.
- King later led 19-16 before four straight Limestone points vaulted the Saints into the lead.
- A Davis kill and block from Milstead and Justin Sawyer gave the lead back to King as the teams traded points.
- Limestone scored consecutive points to take a 24-23 lead before score two more to take the set 26-24.
Second Set
- Just as he did in the opening set, Davis posted five kills in the second set to lead the Tornado.
- However, the Saints took control early with a 4-0 run to take an 8-5 lead.
- The King deficit grew to 18-11 as the Saints scored five-of-six points.
- King tried to comeback with a 5-1 run, but the Saints responded with four straight points to put the set out of reach and eventually take the set 25-21
Third Set
- Limestone grabbed the lead early and extended their advantage to 15-10 with a 5-1 run before the Tornado started to work their way back.
- The King deficit grew to 21-15 before king scored seven straight points to take a 22-21 lead.
- Jackson Carroll started the run with a kill that was followed by a block from Milstead and Davis.
- Drooker then served up an ace before a Milstead solo stuff.
- Another ace from Drooker and kill from Carroll gave King the advantage.
- Davis and Milstead then teamed up for back-to-back kills before a Carroll ace gave King the set, 25-22.
Fourth Set
- The Saints jumped out to a 6-0 lead and led 9-1 before the Tornado started to chip away at the deficit.
- King went on three runs of 3-0, the las to pull within 15-14.
- However, Limestone responded with five straight points to put the set out of reach at 20-14.
- From there the Saints traded points with the Tornado to take the set 25-19 and the match 3-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Davis led the Tornado with a double-double for the second straight night. He posted 13 kills and 12 digs.
- Drooker also posted a double-double, accounting for 30 assists and 14 digs.
- Mason Martindale chipped in with eight kills and five digs.
- Milstead recorded nine blocks, including one solo stuff.
- Gannon Chinen added eight digs.
FOR THE FOES
- Jakub Osiewala led Limestone with 19 kills and five digs.
- Albert Warzocha posted 14 kills and 13 digs while James Chretien added 10 kills and 15 digs.
- Cayden Martin handed out 43 assists and added 11 digs.
- Raymond Rapaglia chipped in with 11 digs.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Davis matched his career-high of 12 digs, which was set on Thursday night. He also posted his second career double-double.
- Drooker recorded his first career double-double and set a career-high with 14 digs.

- King looks to rebound on Saturday against the University of Charleston. First serve from the Student Center Complex is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
- Limestone travels to Lees-McRae College on Saturday morning.
