Kenneth Walton of the King University men's soccer team and
Katie Harless of the King University women's volleyball team have been selected as the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) men's soccer and women's volleyball players of the week.
Walton had a big part in King's 3-0 win over Erskine, scoring two goals. The first goal came in the 69th minute, with his second goal coming in the 79th minute. Walton also had three shots, all of which were on goal in 80 minutes played. This is the first weekly honor of Walton's career.
Harless played in all 13 sets, averaging 9.77 assists and 3.08 digs per set. She posted a career-high 44 assists and 17 digs at Erskine before handing out 36 assists in the win over Lees-McRae. She set another career high in assists Saturday, handing out 47 along with 10 digs and three block assists. This is the first time that Harless has been honored by the TSWA, but not the first weekly honor, as the is the two-time Conference Carolinas Specialist of the Week.
The Tornado women's volleyball team is back in action tonight, hosting North Greenville in their annual white out game. First serve is set for 7 p.m. Men's soccer is on the road tomorrow, facing Salem at 6 p.m. in a nonconference match.
