VALDOSTA, Ga. – The King University men's golf team finished 16th with a three-round score of 881 in the first NCAA Division II Regional in program history.
Samuel Trueba finished third and won a playoff to secure his spot in the upcoming NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship in Detroit, Mich.

HOW IT HAPPENED – THIRD ROUND
- Trueba carded a final round of three-under 69 to give him a tournament total of six-under, 210.
- That put Trueba in a tie for third as he had to play a playoff with Patrick Poate of the University of West Florida.
- Trueba won 5-6 on the first playoff hole to secure his spot in the NCAA National Championship.
- Alex Bradford finished his weekend with a round of 74 to finish with a tournament total of 223.
- Jeffery Perez finished with a tournament score of 225 following a final round of 79.
- Åasmund Norum and Jose Luis Garcia Jimenez carded final rounds of 77.
- Norum finished the tournament with a total of 226 while Garcia Jimenez finished at 229.
HOW IT HAPPENED – SECOND ROUND
- The second round was scheduled to be played on Friday, and the round for the Tornado was halted due to lightning.
- King came back and finished on Saturday morning as Trueba shot a round of even par 72. He was in 18th place with a total of three-under 141.
- Perez shot one-under 71 in the second round to finish with a two-round total of 146.
- Bradford and Norum finished the second round with stroke totals of 149 after they each carded a round of 75 in the second round.
- Garcia Jimenez shot 78 to give him a tournament total of 152.
HOW IT HAPPENED – FIRST ROUND
- Trueba shot five-under on the front nine and followed that with two-over on the back nine to finish at three-under 69. He is in a tie for eighth place.
- Bradford closed with a back nine of even par to finish at two-over 74.
- Norum carded a round of two-over 74 as well, shooting one-over on each the front and back.
- Garcia Jimenez posted three birdies on the back nine and finished with a round of two-over 74.
- Perez shot three-over 75, posting two birdies on the front nine.
FOR THE FOES
- Limestone University was the region champion by 10 strokes with a tournament total of 17-under, 847.
- A.J. Ewart was the individual champion, carding a score of 13-under-203.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Trueba is the first Tornado to qualify for the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship.
