NCAA SELECTION RELEASE
BRISTOL, Tenn. – For the first time in program history the King University men's golf team will tee off in the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship. The Tornado will take the course in Valdosta, Ga. on Thursday morning at Kinderlou Golf Course in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional.
The Tornado are the 10th seed in the southeast region as the regional will be competed with the south region. King will tee off on Thursday starting at 9:10 a.m. Kinderlou Golf Course will play as a par 72 course at 7420 yards.
At a minimum, the top three teams and the top two student-athletes not with a team from each regional will advance to the finals May 16-20 at TPC Michigan in Detroit, Michigan. The remaining eight team berths will be allocated based on the regions represented in the prior year's head-to-head medal play portion of the championships, with the maximum number of teams from a given region capped at seven. The finals will be hosted by Wayne State (Michigan) and the Detroit Sports Commission.
King earned the automatic bid into the field following a comeback at the Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Championship on April 12. Trialing by nine strokes heading into the final round, King came storming back on the back nine to finish with a stroke total of 887, winning their first Conference Carolinas title in program history.

Alex Bradford,
Jeffery Perez,
Åasmund Norum,
Jose Luis Garcia Jimenez and
Samuel Trueba all shot under 74 in that final round and will take the course for the Tornado on Thursday. Bradford, Perez and Norum were all selected to the all-tournament team as they finished in the top 10.
Following the championship, Trueba was selected first team All-Conference Carolinas while Bradford garnered second team honors and Norum earned third team recognition. Trueba leads the Tornado with a stroke average of 70.82 and has won three tournaments and three Conference Carolinas Player of the Week awards.
Bradford owns three top 10 finishes on the season, including a career-best sixth at the Conference Carolinas Championship. He averages 73.74 strokes per round. Norum has had a spectacular freshman season, averaging 74.12 strokes per round. He posted is first career top 10 at the Conference Carolinas Championship, finishing ninth.
Perez played in 17 tournaments and averaged 75.88 strokes per round with two top 10 finishes. He finished sixth at the Conference Carolinas Championship with a score of 221. Garcia Jimenez played in 17 tournaments as well, posting a 76.24 stroke average in six events.
