LIVE SCORING

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The 2021-22 season continues to be one of firsts for the King University men's golf team and Samuel Trueba. On Monday, he will become the first Tornado to tee off at an NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship.

Trueba earned his way into the field at the NCAA South/Southeast Regional where he finished third. In what might have been the deepest field of any tournament this season, Trueba carded a three-round total of six-under 210. At the completion of 54 holes, Trueba was in a tie for the second championship qualification spot. He then won a playoff, 5-6 to earn his place in the NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship.

He has become one of the most decorated golfers in program history in only one season on campus. Over the year, Trueba has won three tournaments, no other Tornado has won more than one tournament in their career. He has posted five top 10 finishes and four top five finishes while averaging 70.72 strokes per round. Trueba has recorded 18 rounds of par or lower, including his season low of 67.

Trueba will tee off at the NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship on Monday at TPC Michigan in Dearborn, Mich. The second round is scheduled for Tuesday and the final round on Wednesday.
