Kim tabbed Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year, four Tornado garner all-conference honors

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The King University men's volleyball team finished second in the Conference Carolinas regular season standings and had four individuals recognized prior to the start of the conference semifinals. Joshua Kim headlined the quartet as he was selected Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year and first team all-conference.

Kim becomes the third player in program history selected Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Year, joining Jeff Sprayberry in 2017 and Joel Salva in 2011. He garners all-conference honors for the third time and first team honors for the second straight year. He was also selected Conference Carolinas Player of the Week and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) National Player of the Week on March 29.

This season Kim averages 3.85 kills and 1.73 digs per set, ranking him second and eighth in Conference Carolinas, respectively. He also ranks in the league's top 10 with an attack percentage of .314 that is ninth. He has posted at least 10 kills in a match 14 times this season, including a season-high of 24 when he hit .333 in a win at the University of Charleston. That match was also his lone double-double of the season as he posted a season-high 16 digs.

Noah Melendez was selected first team All-Conference Carolinas for the second straight year. He also garnered third team honors in 2019 and was the 2021 Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Year. This season he averages 2.23 digs per set, a mark that ranks second in the league and 15th in NCAA Division I. He posted 10 matches with at least 10 digs, including a season-high 19 in a win at Charleston.

Suetonius Harris earns All-Conference Carolinas honors for the first time as he was selected to the second team. He averages 3.25 kills per set, a mark that ranks sixth in Conference Carolinas and 38th in the country. His average of 3.67 points per set is seventh in the conference. Harris has posted at least 10 kills in a match 14 times, including a season-high of 19 three times. He posted two double-doubles, recording 11 kills and 10 digs against 11th-ranked Loyola Chicago and 19 kills and 15 digs at Mount Olive.

Jack Sarnowski earns All-Conference Carolinas honors for the first time, being named to the third team. The setter was selected Conference Carolinas Specialist of the Week five times this season. His average of 10.42 assists per set leads Conference Carolinas and has posted seven matches with at least 40 assists. Three of those matches were over 50 kills with a career-high of 58 assists in a win over Charleston.

The second-seeded Tornado are in action in a Conference Carolinas Men's Volleyball Championship semifinal on Friday as they take on third-seeded University of Mount Olive in Mount Olive, N.C. First serve is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
