WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The King University women's track & field team posted their best finish at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championships in four years. The Tornado finished sixth and were led by pair of conference champions and three runner-up finishes.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The distance medley relay team of Morgan Whitley, Callie Kuchinski, Katy Neubert and Chloe Wade won the distance medley relay by more than eight seconds with a time of 13:12.01.
- Ashley Doyle won the 3000 meters with a personal record time of 10:41.98. She finished more than seven seconds ahead of second place.
- Doyle also finished runner-up in the 5000 meters with another personal record time, crossing the finish line in 18:26.91.
- Also in the 5000 meters, Wade came in fourth with a personal best time of 18:27.30.
- Neubert finished runner-up in the 800 meters by less than one second, crossing the finish line in 2:24.05.
- Neubert was the conference champion each of the last two years in the 800 meters.
- Wade finished runner-up in the mile, crossing the tape in 5:25.79.
- Whitley set a personal record in the mile with a time of 5:38.33 while Destiny Haller finished in 5:57.06.
- All three Tornado in the weight throw set personal records.
- Ruthie Fripp finished 10th with a mark of 13.05 meters.
- Katie Biggs marked 12.72 meters and Annah Blankenship marked 11.18 meters.
- In the shot put, Blankenship posted a toss of 9.45 meters and Biggs marked 8.55 meters.
- In the triple jump, Larynn Clopton posted a leap of 10.03 meters and Samantha Jerrell lept 9.97 meters.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- Doyle was selected Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Year.
- Christina Passamonte earned the Conference Carolinas Elite 23 Award for women's track & field.
- The Elite 23 Award is awarded to the student-athlete at the championship site with the highest GPA.
- Sixth is the highest finish for the Tornado since 2018-19 when they finished sixth.
