Brevard, N.C. – The King University Outdoor Track and Field team traveled to Brevard College for the Tornado Classic meet. The team had a great day, placing fourth on the men's side and sixth on the women's side.

Men's Track and Field Team:

The Men's Track and Field team started the day on the track with a 10k, where Josua Hathaway ran a personal best time of 35:31.68, good for second place.

Nolen Carter was able to attack the 110-meter hurdles with strength, able to get through the line in 17.06 seconds, placing third overall.
Â
Noah Gilliam started his day of competition at 10:00 am in the Hammer Throw with a third-place finish and a heave of 44.77 meters (146' 10" ft).

Zach Stroin also started at 10:00 am in the Javelin, able to throw a second-place mark of 48.31 meters (158' 6" ft).

Women's Track and Field Team:

The Women's Track and Field team was able to show up strong as a team, with just three athletes competing for King this afternoon, with a sixth-place finish.
Â
Caitlin Paulins had the highest place finish on the afternoon for any King athlete with a mark of 2.80 meters (9' 2.25" ft) in the pole vault, winning her event.

Ryless Durrence competed in two events for King with the Discus and Hammer Throw. In the Disc she finished fourth with a mark of 31.18 meters (102' 3" ft). She finished seventh in the Hammer Throw with a heave of 36.21 meters (118' 09" ft).
